He is preceded in death by his grandfather, John Robert Morell, Sr. and his aunt and godmother, Teri Morell.

Tina and Keith would like to express their gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of support from family and friends and the vigilant efforts of George White, the West Baton Rouge, Livingston and Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's offices, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries and the United States Coast Guard.

To the Russell family,
I had the pleasure of meeting Taylor on a concrete job last Wednesday. When I saw the story I was at a loss for words. I'm glad GOD allowed us to meet. He was a very nice person. He talked to me like we had known each other for years. Mr. & Mrs. Russell GOD blessed you with a remarkable son. Only God knows the hurt and pain you are feeling at this time. Thank GOD for the time he allowed you to be together. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Keith and Tina, you are in our thoughts and prayers every moment as we share your pain on losing our 28 year old son 15 years ago this weekend. Lean on your friends and family as everyone wants to help you but they don't know what to do. The Lord doesn't make mistakes and will not give us more than we can handle, although sometimes he pushes us close to the edge. Strengthen you faith, the your love of your spouse and family and trust that someday down the line we'll see our sons again and join them for eternity. Please call on us when you need someone to share your thoughts as we've been there and hopefully can help you as many of our friends have been able to help us. God Bless you and your family. Keith, I grew up with you and got to know Tina from the many years of working with her. I only "know" you children from the many times Tina and talked about our children. I do know a mother's love for her children is very strong, and I wish I could take the pain away. I am praying for God to help you endure this loss that no parent wants to experience.

Constant prayers going out for all involved,

Taylor will always be one of the kindest souls we ever had the pleasure to know and have the privilege to call our friend. He was impossible not to like so much; and he will never be forgotten.
His smile always left your day brighter and better than before he blessed it with his light.
I know Jared has welcomed you in his loving arms and wings. And that he will always be watching over your little girl and family too.
May you and all those you care for so well always feel the love from all the hearts that miss you so.

The Russell family
My heart hurts for you. When someone loses a family member it is hard to express what to say. Not until I lost my father, did I understand such pain. You have crossed a road that has hurt my heart dearly, your child. If I could take a piece of my heart and help you absorb your loss I would gladly do so. My memory of Taylor is quite simple and to the point. When I umpired a baseball game the one player I got to know was the catcher. You can find out the character on a young man firsthand right behind home plate. In Taylor's case I knew his character the instant I met him. Everything was "yes sir, no sir". That carries a lot of weight. That first impression represents values handed down from family. And in this case I knew Taylor was a solid kid!
May God bless you.

I HAD TO GO AWAY

I had to go away.
I'm sorry you couldn't come with me.
But on earth is where you shall stay.
Please do not be sad.
Instead laugh and be glad.
I'm in a beautiful place, such a beautiful place.
I know you wont see me for a while.
But you will hear from me.
I will be the wind that will chill you on a hot summer day.
I will be the sun that will warm you when it's cold.
Listen to the birds sing, I will be saying, "I love you" in their song.
I know you can't touch me.
But you will feel me.
Because I will be inside of you giving you life on the days you feel like you can't go on anymore.
Please I beg of you, go on, and live your life as I lived mine.
Always remember we will be together again.
I will be patiently waiting for you on that day.
When you will join me in this beautiful place.
Until then may God bless you with his almighty grace.

The loss of Taylor leaves a massive sorrowful void in the lives of his friends. I will always remember one of the best men I've known. A young man who proudly loved and respected his father and mother, who worked hard and was a leader and role model to his friends. A young man excited and ready to become a father and husband to Megan and Cameron Taylor who we will always protect and cherish. A young man who was just beginning to understand, appreciate and prepare for the wonderful life in front of him. Taylor Russell, we will surely rejoin you one fine day and thank God for the time we had with you.
