A Memorial Service for Ursula St. John Rostermundt will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. Clyde Grammon officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service Friday.

Ursula St. John Rostermundt, 78, of Alexandria Louisiana passed away on Saturday, June 15th in her home of natural causes. Oyde Ursula Butler was born Oct 22, 1934 in Monroe LA where she and her childhood friend Lillian Davis managed to get into all sorts of mischief. It was here that she met and married Jerome James St. John in the early 1950s. Before she knew it she was the mother of 4 rambunctious children. Finding herself a single mother in the mid 60s she transitioned into a successful business woman with the Ursula's Beauty Salons in Alexandria and in Sedona AZ. She was part owner of the Bolton Ave Beauty School as well and served as president of the Louisiana State Cosmetology Association at one point. Ursula was involved in numerous charitable causes including the early years at John Eskew Training Center for special needs children. She worked for the Amica's Club charity to benefit St. Mary's school for special needs children and the Special Olympics. She could always be counted on to lend a sympathetic ear and counsel those in need. After retiring from the beauty business, Ursula devoted her time to caring for her disabled son Ricky, gardening in her yard, and waiting hand and foot on her little dog Molly.

Ursula was survived by her sons, Ricky St. John, Steve St. John, Phillip St. John and his wife Stephanie St. John, and her daughter Barbara Parks. Her above average grandchildren Jennifer Parks, Scott St. John, Jessica St. John, Jennifer St. John Autry and her husband Jake Autry, April St. John, Casey St. John, and Blake St. John as well 3 great grandchildren and 1 more on the way. Her nephews Mike St. John, Doug St. John, Eric Williams and her niece Teri St. John.
