Victor Moreau Obituary

Major Victor A. Moreau, Ret. USAF

Funeral services for Major Victor A. Moreau will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers in Alexandria with Father Steve Brandow officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by Barksdale Honor Guard.

Major Moreau, 90, of Boyce, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center.

Major Moreau served in the United States Air Force for 22 years during WWII and the Korean Conflict. After his retirement, he worked at Alexandria Glass as General Manager. He was also a pilot for Baker Manufacturing, Manager at Esler Regional Airport, Director for Council on Aging, having subsequently retired. He also served two terms on the Rapides Parish School Board.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Fowler Moreau; parents, Victor Arney Moreau II, and Eola McLaughlin; brothers, Gerald J. Wells and Leonard J. Moreau; and a grandchild, Kevin N. Johnson.

Survivors include his sons, Joseph Dale Moreau and wife, Janice, of Alexandria, Terrance Eugene Moreau and wife, Kaye, of Pineville, and Kenneth Robert Moreau and wife, Alicia, of Greenville, South Carolina; daughters, Sharon Lee Francois and husband, Clave, of Boyce, and Elizabeth Ann White and husband, Frank, of Pineville; brother, Ray A. Moreau of Pineville; stepbrother, Thomas Wells of Ball; grandsons, Trevor Jordon Moreau of Pineville, Noah H. Johnson of Natchitoches, and Korri Morean Hensen; nieces, Charmagne Elizabeth Guillory, Chareze Yvette Wells, Jarja Marie Carville, and Geri Jean Babin; and seven nephews.

Pallbearers will be Clave Francois, A. J. Collison, Noah Johnson, Gabe Francois, Wilton Barrios, and Roy Prestridge. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Gray, Frank M. White, and members of the Barksdale Honor Guard.
