Bobby Summers

March 21, 1938 – September 22, 2023

Our beloved father, Bobby "the kid" Summers passed away peacefully in his home on September 22, 2023 after a battle with cancer. He was 85 years old.

Bobby was born in Arkansas on March 21, 1938 to the parents of Levi and Jewel Summers. He moved as a child with his family to Stockton California. He joined the Air Force when he was 18 and was stationed in Maine where he met and married the love of his life Mary Lou.

While living in Maine they welcome the birth of their first daughter, Sharon. Soon after, they moved back to Stockton, California and then welcomed the birth of their second daughter, Pamela. A job opportunity moved the family to Grass Valley in 1966 where they put down roots with their two daughters.

Bobby had a career with Hoffler wire products where he worked as a machinist for over 30 years. Bobby enjoyed time with his family and friends and had a great love for playing softball when he was young, as well as jeeping, fishing and camping. He enjoyed classic cars and was a member of the Roman Angels car club. He enjoyed trips to Reno for Hot August nights. He made custom fly fishing rods, he loved watching western movies, football and basketball, eating Mexican food and drinking margaritas. He was a huge collector of Hot Wheel's die-cast cars for over 40 years. His home look like a Hot Wheels museum.

Bobby expressed many times before he passed away that he lived a blessed life and loved his family and friends. He was looking forward to reuniting with his wife Mary Lou, who passed away December 26, 2003. We all love you and we miss you every day.

Bobby leaves behind daughter's, Sharon and Pamela. Sons in law, James and Bryan. Grandchildren, Troy, Kayla, Chanell and Blaze. Great grandchildren, Reid, Emmie, Eloise and Ophelia.
