David Winfrey Obituary
August 19, 1940 – July 29, 2024
David Leon Winfrey, 83, of Biggs California died peacefully on July 29th, 2024 in his home with his family by his side.
David was proceeded in death by his beloved parents Glen and Dorothy Winfrey and his son Bryan Winfrey.
David is survived by his wife Loretta of 62 years and his best friend and brother Gary. He and Loretta were blessed with 4 sons Aaron (Elisa) Jeff (Becky) Jered (Marissa) and Barry (Marecil) and 4 daughters Amber (Lyle) Amy, Myra (Steve) and Heather (Nick). David is also survived by his 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Dave owned Pioneer Barber Shop in Grass Valley, California for 50 years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ and held many callings. He loved to fish, hunt and gold pan.
He will be remembered for his patience, loyalty and deep abiding love for his family.

Jered and Barry, my love to you brothers. Your dad was always cool. Had my hair cut by him or Jered for many many years. Miss that old barber shop. Your dad's new journey is just beginning.

Dave gave me my first hair cut and I continued going there until his son closed up shop. Rest in peace Dave.

Wonderful man. I have been filled with memories as a child being brought to his shop to myself well into my own family years sharing conversation with him. I am one of thousands that transcended that time with him but we all felt special. I will never forget him.

My condolences to the Winfrey family. Prior to Dave retiring he was my barber. It didn't matter if I sat in his chair, or one of his son's. I received the same squared away flat top. I never heard Dave speak an I'll word about anyone. He was a gentleman and a role model.
