Gopal Ram Slavonic, born November 12, 1971 at home at Ananda Village, Nevada City, California. Died August 2, 2025, Oakland, California he was 53 years old.
Gopal is survived by his Father, Chuck Slavonic and Step Mother, Barbara Slavonic. His Mother Chandra Diana Lee Slavonic. His Sisters, Kamala Lynn Slavonic/Phillips and Melony Sword. His dear friend Laura Hanks. Plus so many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who all loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed.

I remember Gopal Slavonic for his beautiful flamingo guitar playing his uncle John Slavonic was my ceramics teacher many years ago very nice people

What an unpleasant surprise, my sympathy goes out to family and friends. Gopal would occasionally stop by Empire Music on Broad Street back when I worked there around '08-'12 and was always such a kind and genuine gentleman. We'd cover each other's gigs every once in awhile when he couldn't make it to Ike's or when I couldn't make my usual Friday and Saturday nights at the Country Rose Cafe. A great guitarist, a great guy and a genuine loss for the community.
