Pierre Fournier Obituary

Pierre Fournier

January 16, 1937 – September 3, 2024

Pierre was born and raised in Quebec Canada, he was one of four brothers and five sisters. He met his lovely bride Madeleine Emma Pilon in Montreal. Within the next five years their family expanded, a son Daniel and a daughter Josee.

As a young boy Pierre dreamt of a life in a warmer climate, so became the adventures of Pierre and Madeleine. Off to Southern California to seek the American Dream. Pierre was an Electrician by trade but could do just about anything. He believed in hard work and never giving up. After becoming a widower in 1995 Pierre started a new chapter to his life in Grass Valley, CA.

In retirement Pierre built his house and found joy in local dancing, tennis and pickleball daily. He became PAPA to seven grandchildren and Great PAPA to three. Pierre was known for his wild sense of humor and incredible tenacity. He was blessed to find love a second time. A 28-year partnership with Darlene Moreton (January 31, 1940 - November 19, 2023) Those two traveled the world together and made friends everywhere they went. Pierre had a great appetite for life. "Bon Appetite"

Pierre was truly an inspiration as to how I want to be as I get older in my life. He shared so many stories of his life that inspired me. He always kept me on my toes as there was always an agenda each day I was present. He loved helping me in the kitchen as I loved helping him outdoors. I remember one day when we were doing exercises and he just busted out laughing. I had to ask quite a few times as to why he was laughing so hard. His response was ' it is just so funny that you are doing them with me'. Pierre, you are truly missed!

Bon courage. Votre cousin Luc
