Robert Hailer

It is with sadness that we announce that Robert (Bob) Hailer passed away on March 13, 2025 in Grass Valley. He was 95 years old.

Robert was born on March 7, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts to Walter and Gladys (Kuntz) Hailer. Bob spent the majority of his life in the San Francisco Bay Area primarily in San Mateo and then Grass Valley. Bob graduated from Jefferson High School in Daly City in 1948, where he met and married the love of his life, Beverly Rowe in March 1949. Bob began his work career with PG&E in San Francisco and then was hired as a patrolman with San Mateo Police Department in 1952 and retired as a Sgt. after 30 years of service. After retirement, traveling to various destinations (cruises), to visit children and grandchildren, and genealogy research were enjoyed.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Julie Hailer of Las Vegas, and son, Mark Hailer (Leslie) of Minnesota and Grandchildren: Erick Patterson (Alysia), Emily Topel (Scott), William Hailer (Shannon), Emily Hailer (David), John Hailer (Chantel) and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Gladys Hailer, a brother Thomas Hailer, and beloved wife Beverly.

Dad was a kind and giving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who touched many lives - we are all going to miss him!

We also wish to thank the caring staff at Eskaton, Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, and Hospice of the Foothills for taking such good care of our Dad.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hope Story (Down Syndrome) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.
