Robert McCullough Obituary

ROBERT LEE McCULLOUGH III

October 25, 1945 to April 12, 2024

Also known as Bob or Bobby, was born in Texas City, Texas. He passed away in his home in Grass Valley, CA.

Bob moved to Grass Valley in 1979 after being drafted and serving time in Viet Nam. The war greatly

impacted all aspects of his life, but he was full of love for the outdoors. He found solace in activities such

as fishing, hunting, and worked as a timber faller and long-haul truck driver for many years.

For the last 10 years, Bob enjoyed working in his local community. He developed a small and friendly

group of people that he worked for doing various jobs around their property. He enjoyed these

relationships, and, in many ways, this fulfilled him as he was less able to do the outdoor activities that

he had loved. Bob had many admirable qualities and one of them was how hard he worked throughout

his life.

One of Bob's sisters coined him as one of the last true mountain men, his love for the outdoors and

being resourceful was impressive. He had so many stories, experiences, and adventures that he would

share, some tragic and some funny. He would recall the things that made him laugh often. Through it all,

this was a man that was a survivor and, in many ways, a hero to his family.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Emily Lewis, two beloved grandsons, Diego and Aidan Lewis, a grand-

daughter in-law, Chelsea Lewis and great grandson, Casey Lewis. His step-daughter Suzette Severa and

family. His two sisters, Jackie Von Allmen and Margie Hitchcock and his brother James McCullough. His

many nieces, nephews, friends, and long-term customers.

We love you Bob McCullough
