Thomas (Tom) W. Ewart

April 21, 1942 to July 29, 2023

Thomas (Tom) W. Ewart passed away on July 29, 2023, at his home. He was 81. A celebration of life will be held at Holy Trinity Church, in Nevada City on Saturday, August 19 at 10 am. A reception will follow at the church.

Tom was born April 21,1942 to Roswell H. Ewart and Nelle W. Wilson in Jersey City, NJ. He grew up in Bloomfield, NJ. Graduated from Hope College, Michigan and went on to earn a PhD from Purdue University, in Lafayette, IN in Economics. He was an adjunct professor at St. Josephs College. He spent 2 years in Santiago, Chile as a banking consultant under a Ford Foundation Grant.

After moving to California, he worked as an international banker at Wells Fargo Bank in various positions. Until he started his own business in the early 90s tracking Geographic Information Systems for the banking industry.

Tom was devoted to his family and Holy Trinity Church. He served as treasurer and office manager under Reverand Christopher Seal for over 20 years. He was also Auditor for the Diocese of Northern California. He enjoyed traveling to and meeting the people of the many parishes.

Tom also enjoyed gardening, working on cars, entertaining friends, and family, following the stock market daily, hiking, and kayaking. He also like traveling with his wife Chris throughout the Western U.S.

Tom is survived by his wife of 43 years, Christine; his son John W. Ewart and daughter Amy C. Rasin; their respective spouses Mary and Joshua; and four beautiful grandchildren.

He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
