Jo Ann Edwards Catoe

Jo Ann Strickland Edwards Catoe, 81, of Sopchoppy, went to her home with Jesus, Jan. 12, 2022. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters, husband and son-in-laws. She was adored by her grandchildren who had each visited her in days before her passing, showing their respect for their beloved Nonnie Belle.
She was a 5th generation native of Sopchoppy. Jo Ann worked in Real Estate for 25 years, the State of Florida, Department of Business and Professional Regulations for 15 years before opening Jo Ann's Flowers and Gifts of Sopchoppy. She was a member of Sopchoppy Southern Baptist Church.
She would say her greatest accomplishment in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Many would say her greatest talent was her beautiful singing voice, but her grandchildren would argue it was her cooking and ability to make you feel like you were the most important person in the world when you were with her.
Survivors include her husband Jacob Marshall Catoe; three daughters, Bobbie Jo Crouch and husband Michael, Lisa Russell and husband Rick, and Katie Steinle and husband Craig; three stepchildren, Anne McCabe and husband Jeff Pokorny, Amy Brown and husband Nathan, and Teresa Catoe and husband John Wheeler; siblings Dan Strickland and wife Sandra, George Ed Strickland and wife Leona, Sarah Strickland, Nena Anderson and husband Randy, Mo Strickland and wife Rita and Robert Strickland and wife Regina; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband and father of her children Jack Edwards; and her parents George and Eloise Strickland.
Funeral Service was held Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at 4 p.m. at the Sopchoppy Southern Baptist Church. Interment followed at West Sopchoppy Cemetery.
