Michael David Thomas
1969 - 2021
Michael David Thomas passed away at Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa after a courageous fight with cancer. Michael was raised in Napa and attended Northwood Elementary School, Redwood Middle School and Vintage High School and graduated in 1987. He sang in concert choir and was a part of the vocal music workshop where he so enjoyed performing.
Michael became a florist and owned Napa Valley Flowers. He designed the most beautiful arrangements. He later owned Calistoga Flowers and gifts until he moved to Rio Nido to live among the Redwoods that he loved so much.
During his childhood, he loved going to Cazadero to the cabin on Austin creek to visit his grandparents. Later in life, he moved to his grandparents cabin where he lived for many years. Michael had a passion for animals and cars especially, the Wine Country Express, a 1978 Trans Am.
Michael is survived by his partner in life, Walter Thompson III, his parents Randy and Sylvia Thomas, his brother Brandon and his wife Nichole, his nephew Justin, his niece Isabella, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his loving grandparents Concha & Henry Bustillos (Papa Hank) who have been waiting for him with open arms. At Michaels request, there will be no services. In place of services, when you see lovely flowers, think of Michael and his gift for making everything beautiful.
