Nan Lawson
1922 - 2021
Nan Lawson passed into eternity on November 11, 2021 in the afternoon while watching Lawrence Welk. Nan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1922 to Hazel Leonard Miller and Wayne Miller. She had just reached the milestone of 99 years young, just a short month ago. Her goal was to reach 100 years old so she could have Willard Scott wish her a Happy Birthday on Good Morning America. They both will not be making that appearance.
We anticipate much rejoicing when she is reunited with family, friends and especially her beloved husband Dr. William Lawson. She witnessed the roaring 20s, the great depression, World War II, the cold war, the nuclear age and the space age. Nan was a registered nurse, PTA president, Brownie/Girl Scout Leader, Bowling Teacher and inducted into the Bowlers Hall of Fame, television commentator, and a seamstress. Some of her unknown facts is that she loved to Dance in fact, she took up Tap Dancing and Clogging when she was well into her 60's. She enjoyed helping people less fortunate than her, she donated her time to charities and instructed the handicapped how to bowl, including a blind student.
She and Bill enjoyed traveling to Europe, Greece, Egypt and Hawaii. They proudly raised Kerry Blue Terriers and Fancy Pigeons.
In April she became a Great Great Grandmother to Harper Mae Atkinson completing 5 generations.
She is survived by her daughters Joan Simpkins (Cliff), Jill Casanega, Judy Jesse (Frank), and Reed Lawson.
She was the Grandmother of Brad Simpkins (Leslie), Claire Simpkins, Reggie Simpkins (Carla), Christopher Casanega (Becky), Lauren Jesse, Kevin Jesse, Mathew Lawson, Jenny Lawson, John Lawson, Daniel Lawson, and Rossaro Lawson. Great Grandchildren are Morgan Atkinson (Bradley), Taylor Simpkins, Alfred Simpkins, Theodore Simpkins, Jack Simpkins, Caroline Simpkins, Paige Simpkins, Kennedy Casanega, Maddox Casanega, and Covin Casanega. Great Great Grandchild is Harper Mae Atkinson.
Her final resting place is Tulocay Cemetery, Napa, California.

I´m so sorry I didn´t see this sooner. Man was so great to my Mom-she retaught my mom to bowl after her aneurysm and was always there for both of my parents which I lost in 2016. Thank you Nan!
