Amy Pendleton Foscale
Surrounded by family and friends, Amy Pendleton Foscale, 53 of Preston, CT, beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 following a brief illness. She was born in Manchester, CT on November 16, 1970 to Arthur R. Pendleton and Helen (Jeziorski) Pendleton.
Amy was raised in Manchester and received her dance education there. After graduating from Manchester High School, Amy pursued a degree in finance at Bentley University in Waltham, MA where she earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees. It was at Bentley that Amy was cast in the coveted role of Cassie in Bentley's production of A Chorus Line, and Amy became what is known in theater as a triple threat having leads in singing, dancing and acting!
The commercial shipping industry enticed Amy. She began her business career with an international company in Boston. Later she was offered managerial positions overseas. She worked in Paris, France and London, England for several years before returning stateside. Should you spot a commercial shipping vessel on the high seas named the Matthew, Amy is its Godmother! Amy worked briefly at General Dynamics in New London before accepting her
current position as Commercial Operations Manager for Veolia North America.
Soon after returning from Europe, Amy began dressage lessons and was bequeathed her instructor's horse named Dorado - a handsome chestnut Quarter Horse Appendix. Amy met Douglas Foscale, another horse owner, and the rest is history! They married in 2015, and bought a beautiful home in Preston with expansive acreage - the perfect location for horses and other animals. Dorado Farm became the home of 3 horses, a donkey, 4 sheep and 3 goats. Some are rescues and al receive loving care.
In April of this year, Mohegan Sun Casino hosted a fitness competition known as Fitness Atlantic. Amy took the challenge. Months of regimented diet and exercise were requisite. Hard work, dedication and commitment earned Amy a finalist position in her age division. She had hopes of a repeat performance in 2025!
Amy is survived by her loving husband Douglas, her mother Helen, her brother Brad and his wife Kimberley, her nephew Oliver, her niece Lillie, her mother-in-law Constance Press as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and dearest friends. Amy was predeceased by her loving father in December, 2023.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm followed by a service at Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main Street, Westerly, RI. Burial at the convenience of the family will be at a later date.
