Beverly Florence Harwood

Beverly Florence (Terranova) Harwood, 91, of Bradford, RI passed away on June 22, 2022 at The Westerly Hospital, with her son and daughter-in-law at her bedside. She was the beloved wife of Frederick B. "Boots" Harwood, Sr. who predeceased her in 2010 after 61 years of marriage.

She was predeceased by her parents, former Westerly Police Chief Anthony H. "Ben" Terranova, Sr. and Claurice F. (Bariteau) Terranova; and a brother Anthony H. "Sonny" Terranova, Jr.

Beverly leaves two sons, former Westerly Town Council President, Frederick B. Harwood, Jr. (Anne) and Robert J. Harwood, Sr. She was a beloved grandmother to six grandchildren, Frederick B. Harwood III (Gina), Jeffrey W. Harwood (Cindy), Dr. Michael J. Harwood (Vanessa), Robert J. Harwood, Jr., Jaime E. Abbott (Bill), and Richard M. Harwood. She also leaves behind ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Irene Harwood and many nieces and nephews.

Beverly was a devoted Catholic and a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Bradford where she sang in the church choir for many years. She worked many years at Douglas Randall, Inc. in Pawcatuck, CT where she held many positions including shift supervisor, accounts payable, and personnel director just to name a few. She was a generous lady to those in need and loved her family with her heart and soul. She will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-6pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly at 10am on Monday, June 27. There is no procession from the funeral home to church.
