Bradley Meek Obituary

ASHAWAY - Bradley J. Meek, beloved husband for 53 years of Lois (Tucker) Meek, of Edgewood Avenue, Ashaway, passed away at the Westerly Hospital on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was 76.
Born in Westerly, he was the son of Helen Meek and the late Charles Meek.

Bradley graduated from Chariho High School, Class of '66. A Purple Heart recipient, Bradley served during the Vietnam War, retiring from the US Marines as a Lance Corporal. He also received the Presidential Unit Citation, the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, a Vietnamese Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was very active with the VVCC and a life member of the American Legion, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the DAV- Joshua Broadfoot Chapter, and the 3rd Marine Div Assoc. Bradley was a member of the Marine Corps Assoc., the Vietnam Vets of America and the VFW Post 8955. He enjoyed landscaping and grading.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his daughter Tara L. DeGiacomo and her husband Peter of Ashaway; two grandchildren, Logan and Brianna DeGiacomo; two siblings, Charles Meek, Jr. of South Carolina and Brenda Perry of Pawcatuck; and several nieces and nephews. Bradley was predeceased by two sisters, Kathy Taylor Bears and Charlene Rosa.

Brad's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Lisa Manlove and physical therapist Gus Brucker, for their years of dedication and care.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 8, from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Family and friends are also invited to attend a Funeral Service at 11am on Tuesday, July 9, in the funeral home. Burial with Full Military Honors will be conducted at First Hopkinton Cemetery, Ashaway, following the funeral service. Contributions may be made to the Ashaway Ambulance or the DAV in Bradley's memory. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com.
