Charles Daniel Constantine

Charles Daniel Constantine is resting in peace after 94 years of life. One of five siblings, Sonny, Ritchie, William, and Marion, Charles was born in Hartford to George and Anna Constantine. He passed away on September 2, 2024 with his grandsons Nicholas and Michael beside him.

Charlie and his wife June (Day) were the proprietors of Wequetequock Cove Marina for over 30 years with their partner and friend Edward Pichette. Charlie was admired for his ability to fix just about anything but specializing in outboard boat motors. You could always find him tinkering with a project in his shop. He was a gentle, quiet soul, who was quick with a smile and would listen for hours to anyone with a good story. Being a part of his life was a blessing and he was truly a treasure.

Charlie spent many years caring for his grandchildren; rocking them gently to sleep in his chair, feeding them from his plate at the round table, teaching them to crab and fish, and taking them on boats out to Sandy Point and Napatree. His patience was endless. His first grandchild Nikki was soon followed by Heather, Christopher, Michael, Nicholas, Cassandra and Zachariah as well as two great-grandchildren, Willow and Rosalie June. His grandson Nicholas cared for Charlie to the very end of his life. Grampy meant everything to all of them.

Charlie was a US Army Veteran and is survived by two brothers, Ritchie and his wife Dee, and Bill and his wife Carolyn; his two sons, James and John; and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his wife June (Day) and his son Michael Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Owl and Dove, 1 W Broad Street, Pawcatuck, CT on September 15, 2024 at 3pm. Please bring photos, stories and a smile.
