David Sisk Obituary
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Lena J. (Gervasini) Sisk, their three children, Dean (Kara) Sisk, Caroline (Peter) O'Keefe, and Elizabeth (Bryan) Schneider and five grandchildren. Dave is also survived by his brothers; Michael Sisk, William Sisk, Timothy Sisk, and Stephen Sisk, and sisters, Susan Salentine, Jo-Ann Carson and Peggy Cawley, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Nancy Federico, his brother James Sisk and his parents James and Anna (Perry) Sisk.
A lifelong resident of Stonington, David was employed at Electric Boat for 41 years before retiring in 2002. He served in the Vietnam War with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade, where he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his bravery. David would later return to Vietnam in 2013 as part of a goodwill tour with the VFW.
David was a member of the Maria Assunta Society of St. Michael Church in Pawcatuck, the Portuguese Holy Ghost Society of Stonington, the Pawcatuck Italo-American Club and the Westerly Bocce Club as well as an advocate for the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
"Ollie" was an avid golfer who loved big band swing, had a passion for cooking and prided himself on his homemade wine. He could often be found meticulously tending to his yard, flower gardens and the giant pumpkins he grew. David devoted much of the last few years to caring for his wife and was happiest when surrounded by friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Family gatherings with laughter, good food and drinks by the pool was one of Dave's simple but most regarded pleasures. He will always be remembered for his kindhearted nature, generosity, and infectious laugh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Michael Church, 60 Liberty Street, Pawcatuck, CT. There is no procession from the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will take place at St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck, CT. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7 pm at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly, RI. For online condolences, please go to www.rushlowiacoifuneralhome.com

Thinking of you, Lena and Bill, and all the Sisk siblings. Ollie was a good guy and I know you miss him deeply. I bumped into him and Lena at a restaurant in Mystic in 2014 (can´t believe it was so long ago) and it was a joyful reunion. So glad I got to see them again. Much love to the Sisk family.

Please extend our sincere condolences to all the Sisk families. Dave´s commitment to his family, especially Lena, friends, and community will be missed. Our condolences go out to the entire Sisk family. Dave was a friend, neighbor and all-around good person. We have many fond memories with his family; especially a fun-filled trip to Florida when our families were young. We are saddened by his passing. Rest in Peace.
