Donald V. Steadman

1932 - 2018

Donald V. "Goose" Steadman, 86, of North Road, Hopkinton, R.I., died peacefully, on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Dean) Steadman.

Born in Westerly, R.I., on February 10, 1932, he was the son of the late Carrol and Lovira (Corey) Stedman.

Mr. Steadman served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Donald had been a Mechanic and Heavy Equipment Operator for the Town of Stonington, CT, for many years before retiring. He loved his antique tractors and was a member of the Antique Tractors Association and the Washington County Tractor Pullers Association.

He will be sadly missed by his children; Shirley Sylvia of Buffalo, WY, Robert Steadman of New Hampshire, James Steadman of Charlestown, R.I., Jane Krus of FL, Lorie Johns of Groton, CT, Donna Steadman of Hopkinton, R.I. and Michael Steadman of Westerly, R.I. He also leaves his beloved dog Jazzmine.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., at the First Hopkinton Cemetery, Chase Hill Road, Ashaway, R.I. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
