Ina Helme Obituary
Born Oct. 22, 1924 in Charlestown, R.I., she was the daughter of the late George Henry Babcock Sr. and Emily (Almyra) Babcock, and was a graduate of Westerly High School with high honors.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Starr Helme; two sons, Kenneth Ross Helme and Samuel Stephen Helme and his wife, Elenor; brother, Walter Kenneth Babcock and his wife, Beverly; two sisters, Gwendolyn Gray and Mildred Calhoun; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a large number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her extended close family, Katherine and Diane Helme, and Joan Tobey and Ann Martin. She was predeceased by two brothers, George Henry Babcock Jr. and Charles Rodman Babcock.
Out of her deep love for her God, Jehovah, Ina, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, faithfully witnessed right up to the end. Ina was a direct descendant of the Narragansett Indian Tribe.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Fairview and the doctors and nurses at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for the care given to Ina during her illness. Also, a special thank you to the Mystic Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 170 Flanders Road, Mystic, on Friday, April 24, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Mystic Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Ma was always the best. She was a spiritual woman and loved Jehovah above all else and then her family. I feel blessed to have had her in my life and long to see her in the New World when Jesus awakens her. Our love and prayers continue always with her children “Big Sis” Pat, Kenny, Steve and the rest of the family.

Dear Pat,
"Your Mom,and your family Sister, Granma, Great Grandma, Aunt and Cousins and Friend was a beautiful woman in her personality, integrity, and actions." Sister Helme [Ina] will genuinely be miss by all who knew her and loved her over her many years she served as one Jehovah's Witnesses. Especially we will miss her kind heart and warm smile. "Some of these fond memories will sneak down out of our eyes and roll down our cheeks."
