John Paci Jr. Obituary
Johnny, as he was known to his family and friends, lived a simple life. He grew up and lived most of his adult life in the great city of Hartford, Conn., before moving down to the Rhode Island shoreline in his retirement to be closer to his family. Johnny served in the Unites States Navy, and worked as an auto mechanic at various garages, but enjoyed his time at Strom's Texaco station in Hartford the best. Johnny spent most of his adult life working for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation as a mechanic at the DOT Wethersfield, Conn. garage. Johnny loved his Detroit Tigers, his special friend, Miss Orabell McCravy, and the United States. Johnny was a friend to all who knew him; he always saw the best in people.
Johnny leaves behind a niece; nephews; extended family; and friends who will miss him dearly; and was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie. A funeral Mass will be held at the St Pius X Church in Westerly, R.I. at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, followed by a private burial. In lieu of flowers, Johnny requested donations be given to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.

I worked with John for many years at the CT DOT. He was undoubtedly the best mechanic I ever knew. He was always willing to share his wealth of knowledge with me and reassure me as I learned the complexities of computer controlled automotive systems. I think of him often and still use many of the techniques he showed me. My only regret is we lost touch after he retired. I will have a Holy Eucharist celebrated in my church in grateful thanksgiving for his life and service to God and country. I'll miss you John!

I will miss his wonderful greetings each day at daily morning mass. He was always such a sweet sweet man! Thankful to have his kindness touch my soul. Peace John!

John will be surely missed by his buddies at McDonalds for coffee in the morning. You could always learn from him on many subjects, including automobiles. I know I will surely miss him. Rest in peace,John. Don LoPresto.
