Restelli Family,

Sorry for the passing of John he was a friendly guy. I lived next door to him on Pleasant St, which was next door to his parents store. He sold us and repaired our first TV. His mother Mary showed my wife how to make meatballs the Italian way, plenty of fresh garlic and use pork and beef mixed. While metal detecting at Misquamicut Beach John often came by offering advice as to where to search for coins. I found out later John threw some coins in a certain area for us to find. We took part in the Veteran parades in Town and John would always be on the side lines clapping for my group as we passed by.
John played basketball on some of WHS best teams in the early 1950. He told me his job was to take care of the other teams best player. I said you must have been a good guard. He said my job was to upset them and make them foul out.
I coached John son Mark in the CYO Basketball League. Rest in peace John
you will be remembered.

Dear Mrs. Restelli and family,
I was so sorry to learn of John's passing and extend to you my sincerest sympathy. I had several of your wonderful children in High Street School. They were great kids and I'm sure they are raising all great children just as they were. John's generosity to his friends and neighbors, his military service to our country and love of his family will not be forgotten by this community. May he now rest in eternal peace.
