Joseph Rizzo Obituary
Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Angelo P. and Camelia Rizzo.
He will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Christina M. Henson and Patreasa A. Rezendes and her husband Joseph; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Rizzo.
Joe was employed as a receiving inspector at Electric Boat in Groton, until his retirement. He was a member of the Pipefitters Local 777. Joe was very involved with the union and was one of the members who started the retiree club meetings. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was also a member of the Amancio-Falcone-Gaccione VFW Post No. 8955, as well as a proud member of AA for over 24 years.
Visiting hours are omitted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St, Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to the church. Burial will be in R.I. Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St, Westerly, is in charge of the arrangements.

Social and friendly, two words that describe my good friend and longtime neighbor, Joe. His colorful personality was indeed a factor that gravitated people to him. I'll always remember our conversations at Bill & Eileen's on Christmas Eve. On behalf of my wife Barbara & I, another good
