Judy A. Vuono

CHARLESTOWN - Judy A. Vuono, 72, of Charlestown, Rhode Island (and former resident of Hawaii Island) peacefully transitioned surrounded by loved ones on Monday, August 25, 2025, at South County Hospital. She was the loving wife of Anne Warren for 47 years. Born in Westerly, Rhode Island on December 8, 1952, she was the daughter of Alfred and Frieda (Haubenreich) Vuono. Besides her wife Anne, she leaves behind her brothers Alfred Vuono (wife Nancy) of Narragansett, RI; John Vuono (wife Nancy) of Westerly, RI; Nicholas Vuono (wife Rosemary) of North Carolina; and Daniel Vuono (partner David Colantonio) of Connecticut. She also leaves nieces Danielle Blue (Vuono) and Beth Vuono as well as nephews John Vuono, Nicholas Vuono, and Andrew Vuono.

Judy embodied what it meant to give from the heart. She was loved by all who knew her and even those who didn't. She began an almost 15-year career as a psychotherapist in NYC back in the early 1980's. During that time, Judy specialized in addiction therapy and touched the lives of countless individuals who leaned on her as they journeyed towards recovery. After moving to Hawaii in the mid-1990's, Judy changed the path of her career and became an elementary special education teacher. She retired in 2014 after helping improve the lives of so many children and families on the Island.

In 2015, Judy and Anne moved back to Rhode Island to reconnect and strengthen their family bonds. Judy had a deep love of delicious food; although she always had to make sure every dish and every recipe had her own personal touch. She was an amazing cook and poured love into every dish she created. Judy loved yard sales and finding the perfect treasures for friends and family. Her favorite activity was gathering with friends and family, sharing a great meal, and spending time telling stories and reminiscing.
