Lawrence Dotolo Obituary
He is survived by his daughter Cheryl (Mario) Ruggeri, his sons Mark (Lisa) Dotolo and Thomas (Heather) Dotolo. He was predeceased by his son Robert. He is also survived by grandson Chris Ruggeri, granddaughter Avery Dotolo and several nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was the youngest of 6 siblings and was predeceased by his sister Margaret Grispino and his brothers Alfred, Dr. Frederick, Leo and Louis.
He was the Advertising Director for the Day Publishing Company until his retirement in ~1985.
Lawrence was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in campaigns in Northern France, Rhineland and Ardennes earning three service stars and a Purple Heart. For a period during the Battle of the Bulge, Lawrence was a POW until rescued and was awarded a medal for his honorable service during that period.
He was an avid reader, loved golfing with his friends and family, and was a fan of the New York Yankees and Giants.
Lawrence was a communicant of Saint Pius X church.
The family thanks Dr. Joseph Dotolo for the wonderful care provided over the years; the care givers who supported him during the past two years; the VA care team; the Beacon Hospice care team and the Apple Rehab care team.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 20th from 5 to 7 PM at Buckler Johnston Funeral Home on Main Street in Westerly. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Church in Hope Valley on Thursday at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. The procession from the church to the Veterans Cemetery and Ceremony in Exeter will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Jimmy Fund.
