Lillian Arbour Obituary
She was the beloved wife of Raymond L. Arbour Jr. whom she married on May 11, 1968. In addition to her husband Ray, she is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Barden (Joey) and Stacey Arbour both of Pawcatuck. She is most proud of her four grandchildren, Devin, Alexis, Cole and Layla. Lillian spent many years working in the Stonington School System.
Upon her retirement she devoted herself to her children and grandchildren.
One of her favorite pastimes was writing. She would spend hours writing letters and cards to family and friends. She was also a published author (Do You Ever Wonder) a children's book, where her legacy will live on.
Lillian was pre-deceased by her parents, Lou and Evelyn (Nichols) Souza, her brother, Louis Souza and a niece, Tracey (Souza) Murray.
Per Lillian's request, visiting hours will be omitted. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 26th at 11:30am at the Stonington Cemetery 345 North Main St. Stonington.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Pawcatuck Fire Department or The Wounded Warrior Project in her name.
The Mystic Funeral Home is assisting with her arrangements.

Dear Skip, Stephanie & Stacey,
So sorry to learn of Lillian's passing. I remember when you girls were in school with our Ben & Emily, and we were all in the same neighborhood. Your mom was in the school system & so was I, we often would find time from our busy lives to catch up. Later Joe & I would bump into you Skip walking / Lillian & you would share that another camping trip was in the works for the 2 of you. May your hearts be filled with good & loving memories to help you through your loss.

Skip and family--our sympathy on Lillian's passing. My closest cousin in so many ways, she will be missed more than anyone can know. From our correspondence to our visits to our Souza heritage (and iconic genetic traits), there was so much to love about her. The world is lessened without her in it, but take heart that the neverending physical challenges are no longer, and she is at peace in Aunt Evelyn's loving embrace with Uncle Louis and "Little" Louie by her side.
