Lloyd Baker Obituary

Lloyd Alan Baker, 75, of Potter Hill Road, Westerly, died suddenly Saturday, May 17, 2008, at The Westerly Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann C. Baker.
Born in Providence on July 26, 1932, he was the son of the late William H. Baker II and the late Agnes (Neil) Baker.
Mr. Baker owned and operated L.A. Baker Architects in Westerly and throughout Rhode Island for many years.
Mr. Baker was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Army.
Lloyd was a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. He was a longtime member of the American Institute of Architecture.
Mr. Baker was an avid golfer and member of the Winnapaug Country Club.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Mark L. Baker of Arizona, Kyle A. Baker, M.D. of Southington, Conn., Scott D. Baker of Brooklyn, N.Y., Cheryl I. Muszynski of Ashaway, Geoffrey Garbett Baker of Providence, and Glenn Garbett of Westerly. He also leaves his brother, William H. Baker II of Charlestown and his sister, Grace M. White of North Stonington; 14 grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Winifred W. MacPherson of Westerly; his former wife, Joyce G. Baker of Cranston; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m., in Christ Episcopal Church, corner of Elm and Broad streets, Westerly. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly.

To Lloyd's family: I am so sorry to hear of Lloyd's passing.I was not aware of this loss until today. He has been so instrumental in all of Narragansett Indian Housing Projects for the last 12 years and had become a very dear friend. He will be greatly missed.Please contact me.
