Luigina Algieri

Luigina (Fusaro) Algieri, 84, of Midland Road, Westerly, passed away peacefully at The Westerly Hospital on Saturday, November 6, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Vincenzo Algieri who predeceased her on Aug. 31, 2015.
Born in Corigliano, Calabria, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Maria Fusaro.
Luigina proudly worked at the Westerly Hospital for 25 years until she retired in 2004. She was communicant of the St. Pius X Church. She took pride in making a warm and welcoming home. She was a talented cook and dessert maker and she enjoyed continuing her Italian traditions with her family. She loved spending her summer's outdoors and enjoying her flower and vegetable gardens. She was pure definition of love, anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her felt that love and compassion. She was absolutely selfless and did anything for her family and friends.
She will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Nate Algiere (Rhonda), Antonella Servidio (Frank), John Algieri and Tina M. Campbell (Scott); and two siblings, Francesco Fusaro and Delfina Fusaro. Luigina will also be sadly missed by her nine grandchildren, Frank Jr., Jessica, and Christopher Servidio; Alexandra, Brooke, Catherine and Julia Algiere; Sydney and Hayes Algieri. In addition, she leaves two sisters-in-laws, Maria Guarnieri and Rosa Musella; and many nieces and nephews.
Luigina's family would like to thank the Westerly Hospital for their compassion, care and support during her brief illness.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 45 Elm St., Westerly at 10am on Thursday. There is no procession from the funeral home to church.
