Michael Gerrish Obituary
Born in Bradford, he was the son of Elizabeth Gerrish, of Bradford, and the late Everett Gerrish.
Mike was a maintenance electrician at Electric Boat for more than 30 years. In addition, he owned and operated Gerrish Electric as a side business. After retiring in 2002, he was able to enjoy many years of R&R in the company of good friends and family.
Mike was known especially for his sense of humor, kindness and generosity. He led an active social life and was a member of the Bradford Citizens Club, the Bocce Club and the North End Club.
A decorated war hero, Mike was a Vietnam veteran and recipient of multiple honors of merit and bravery for defending his country.
He is survived by his brother Joseph Gerrish, of Charlestown, and his wife Lorain (Baton) Gerrish. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
He was predeceased by two brothers, J. Peter Gerrish, of New York, N.Y., and Lester Gerrish, of South Kingstown, along with his wife Debbie (Hunt) Gerrish.
A visiting hour will be held on Monday from 11 a.m.-noon in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A funeral service will immediately follow at noon in the funeral home.
Burial with full military honors will take place at R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Committal Building, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Mike's memory to his favorite charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans. For online condolences, please go to www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com.

I will always remember when Mike,Nor & Pat came to visit Maine & Mike cooked fresh shrimp & introduced me to "BAY SEASONING" it was the best tasting shrimp ever...since that visit I have used the "Bay Seasoning" every time we have shrimp!
