Nelda (Fox) Nardone Obituary

NORTH STONINGTON, CT - Nelda Stallones (Fox) Nardone, our mother, nonnie, sister, aunt, and friend, Nelda was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at the age of 77, from pancreatic cancer. Born Nelda Joyce Stallones in Dallas, Texas, to Ercelle and Kenneth Stallones, Nelda was raised in a loving home with her younger sister, Linda Jean.

Nelda married Maurice Fox in 1959 and they eventually settled into the home she planned and contracted in North Stonington. Maurice co-founded Analysis & Technology, Inc., a naval research contracting firm, where Nelda later served as Corporate Secretary and held a lengthy term on the Board of Directors. Maurice passed in 1978, and in 1984, Nelda married Charles Nardone. They lived a happy life together, splitting their time between summers in New England and winters with family in Texas, until his passing in 2012.

Nelda was an extraordinary hostess, providing exceptional hospitality at every possible opportunity. In addition, she served on the North Stonington Board of Education and the board of the Heritage Playhouse in Hopkinton, was a trustee of The Wheeler Library, an advisor for Rainbow Girls, a church deacon, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and the English Speaking Union in Austin, Texas.

Nelda leaves behind a devoted family including sister, Linda Classen and husband, Nick, of Austin, Texas; and children, Henry (Reg) Fox, of Turner, Ore., Mary Fox Fields, of Georgetown, Texas, Suzanne Fox Buchele and husband, Steven, of Ghana, West Africa, and Maurice Fox and wife, Christine, of Lakewood, Colo. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kyle and Margo Fox, Timothy and Caroline Fields, Wesley (Fox) and Anna Buchele, Grace Buchele Mineta and husband, Ryosuke, Sarah Fox Hammelman and husband, Rob, Clinton James (C.J.) Fox and wife, Kristin, and Laura Fox; great-grandchildren, Levi, August, Connor, and Natalie Fox; and a large extended family to cherish her memory, including many members of the Nardone, Wardman, and Fox families.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30 at Central Baptist Church in Westerly, R.I.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation in Nelda's memory to The Wheeler Library, 101 Main Street, North Stonington, CT 06359.
