Norma Crandall Obituary

Norma Louise Crandall
PRESTON, Conn. - Norma Louise Crandall, 83, of Preston, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.  Born in Norwich, CT on March 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Arvilla (Kenfield) Crandall.

Norma was employed as a CNA for many years working at several nursing facilities locally and in Florida.  She also had private clients whom she cared for in their homes.  She was an avid baseball fan and she loved her New York Yankees. An avid artist, she enjoyed drawing and painting and many of her creations received awards at local fairs.  She liked going to play the slots…and in turn, being very lucky! She loved the beach. She truly loved being a mother and a grandmother. She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.  Norma was a member of the Crandall Family Association.

She leaves her daughter Jeanette M. Smith and her husband Joseph; grandchildren Jack Smith, Ade Smith, and Jessica Smith; her brother David E. Crandall Sr. and his wife, Cassandra Crandall;  and a nephew David E. Crandall Jr.  She was preceded in death by her mother Arvilla J. Kenfield Crandall, her father Frederick P. Crandall, and her brother Earl P. Crandall.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Norma's name to the Mayo Clinic.

A celebration of Norma's life will be held at 4pm on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the home beginning at 3pm before the service. Committal services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Crandall and Smith Family,

Sorry for the loss of my classmate "1957" at WHS.
I recall Norma being very quiet and shy in school.
I guess I was wrong as her write up speaks how outgoing she was in helping others. I recall her brother Earl who helped with my family genealogy he possessed a great deal of knowledge in his family history. Rest in peace Norma.
