Pamela Blake Obituary
Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of Marion Andrews, of Westerly, and the late George "Lenny" Andrews.
Pam was a revenue officer for the Westerly School Department for many years. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, enjoyed bowling and bingo and was an avid scrapbooker and beader. She was the 2009 Courage Award winner at the Relay for Life. Pam enjoyed watching her sons play sports when they were growing up.
In addition to her husband and mother, she will be dearly missed by her sons, Greg Blake and his girlfriend, Caitlin Gaban, of Charleston, S.C.; and Shane Blake, of Westerly; her brother, David Andrews, of Brooklyn, Conn.; and 15 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her uncle, Squitchy Marino.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7p.m. in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly, on Thursday at 10 a.m. There is no procession from the funeral home to the church. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.

My prayers are to Pam's family. I haven't seen Pam since High School, but I am greatly touched by what she had to face in her lifetime with a life-threatening illness with such courage from what I have read. I can't imagine... I do believe in the afterlife and Angels. I am certain she is shining brightly, high, and above, to give inspiration and hope to anyone with fighting a battle in however that may be. My prayers to her family to draw together and be close. God bless you all, my prayers are there for you everyday.

My deepest sympathy to mark and his family. I helped take care of her in her final days. Was so saddened to learn of her passing while I was out of town. She was a wonderful person and Mark was an amazing husband never rarely leaving her side. I am so sorry I was not in town to say goodbye. God has another beautiful angel.

I met Pam when our children were in elementary school together, she an I became fast friends. I moved back to my hometown and she and I lost touch. I have always smiled when I thought of her, her spirit touched my heart all those yrs ago and I have never forgotten what an amazing woman she was and how she loved her boys . People like Pam come around if we are lucky, once in a lifetime, and those who knew and loved her were blessed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Mark and family,
Just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you at this time. Though we were all truly blessed to have Pam stay a lot longer than anyone, her doctors included, anticipated, it does not make her passing any easier for anyone, especially you guys. I hope that you can find strength in each other, and just remember her legacy of never giving up, no matter the difficulty of the situation.
She taught a lot of people a valuable lesson, and I am so proud of her. There are not many people who could or would have faced her situation the way she did. She was just a very positive role model, unfortunately, thrown into circumstances she did not deserve. Her dignity and strength were, at times, overwhelming. Keep her in your hearts and move forward, because that is what she would want you to do. May God bless you all.

We are so sorry to hear of Pam's battle coming to an end. You have to know she is in a better place, though that doesn't make it any easier. Pam and I used to do ceramics together and than lost touch and re-found each other on FB, I am very thankful for this.

I was blessed to have known Pam! We corresponded on Face Book when I lived in Alaska in which I often felt inspired by Pam's spirit and determination. She taught all of us how to live life even while facing a terminal illness: never surrender. While Pam has left this physical world, she continues in her next phase of life in the eternal. I am so sorry to hear that Pam passed away. Such a great loss to all that were fortunate to have known her. I go back to 7th grade with Pam, we played basketball together - first with YBA league at the YMCA and then of course Jr. High and then High school. We had a lot of fun. Got to spend time with her last November at our 30th class reunion and even then she was still smiling - which is what I remember the most about Pam - that smile !!! I will miss running into her around town - we would always do a quick catch up with our lives, a hug and a smile. Rest in peace - my friend - you certainly fought the fight the best you could.
