Ruth Card Obituary

Ruth L. (Lewis) Card, 84, of Maple St., Hope Valley, R.I., died peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of George V. Card Jr.
Born in Exeter, R.I. on March 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Barber) Lewis.
Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hope Valley.
She will be remembered for her love of sewing, cooking and caring for others.
Besides her husband, she will be sadly missed by her children; Jim Card and his wife, Sally of Florida and Cheryl Card of Derry NH. She was the loving grandmother of four and great grandmother of one. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Nancy Hinchliffe of Wyoming, R.I. and brother-in-law, John Card of Rockville. She was the sister of the late Lester Lewis.
Funeral service will be held Monday, at 10:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Hope Valley, 1059 Main St., Hope Valley, R.I. Calling hours, Sunday, from 2-5 p.m., at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St., Hope Valley.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hope Valley Ambulance Corp., PO Box 326, Hope Valley, R.I. 02832.
