To the entire Banker family-my sincere condolences. Gene and I were 4-Her's in Chet Perkins club a long time ago. We shared the love of horseback riding and taking part in so many 4-H activities. We were also club officers at the same time. Our families shared a very special bond way back then. Gene was an amazing person! I'm so very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful man. In Gene's name, I made a donation to the CT 4-H Horse Program.

To the entire Banker family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Our families have been friends for decades. My Mom (Sally) & Dad ( Harold) were the best of friends, bowling buddies & more....and Mimi was my sister Cheryl's godmother. Love and condolences to all of you.

So sorry for the lose of Gene he will be greatly missed by many. I will always remember the smile on his face and gleam in his eyes whenever we talked especially when it was time to go north! Even when he and little Jon delivering wood in winter did it with a smile. You'll be missed bud. RIP Till we meet again my friend.

Gene was a wonderful person. Although I got to know him very well over the last 40+ years I still remember one of the first times that I witnessed his kind and caring demeanor. We were working at Harris Graphics and as I remember it I was sitting in the lunch room (during lunch) and Gene was also sitting nearby. When I looked up from my sandwich there was Nadine bringing Gene a warm home made lunch. His eyes said it all. I don't recall any of the other wives doing that. They were newlyweds and truly in love. God Bless you Gene and your family.

One year I was invited over to do the annual soupy making party with my father in law Wayne. I was the new guy (and the youngest) so they put me on the crank. We made soupy, drank some beers and busted each other´s balls the whole time, mostly mine. Every time a casing broke or I took a break they let me have it. It was a great day. When we were done Gene told Wayne I was a good egg. He couldn´t disagree more... :)
Every time I eat soupy I´ll remember Gene and that day.

Was lucky to be on the Philmont trip with Gene and the boys. The two of us struggling up Mount Baldy was a fond memory. I got to the top and told him I was watching him and trying to figure out how he was doing it. He told me he wasn't going to quit because he was watching me. We had a ball! I sadly lost touch with him after Boy Scouts. My condolences to his family, he will be missed. The world was a better place with the "Gentleman farmer" in it.

My sincere condolences to the Banker family. Gene was always so kind and went out of his way for us with boy scouts especially when he took the boys to Maine. His efforts were always appreciated.

4-H is how I "knew" Gene. I had heard of him through his cousins who were my neighbors growing up in North Stonington. But Gene and I had been selected to represent Connecticut at the "4-H Citizenship Conference" in Washington DC. I wasn't sure I would know anyone to sit with on the bus ride to DC but while waiting to get on the bus Gene said "hey there Meg you are sitting with me" and we talked the whole way down. That started our friendship. I thought for sure once we got to DC he would quickly leave me in the dust, but Gene was full of excitement and kindness all week. It was a trip I think of fondly as I do our 4-H friendship. Head, Heart, Hands and Health Gene. You will be greatly missed. Love and heartfelt sympathy to to ALL his family and friends. Sincerely Meg Parant Lemar

I don´t think I ever saw geno without a smile on his face. He is the only person I ever knew that didn´t have an enemy and I´m sure it would have been impossible to find someone who didn´t like him. We all would be better people if we had a little bit of Geno in us!
