Rosanne Coy, 88

Rosanne Marie (Rampy) Coy 88, of Laurel passed away in Billings on October 30, 2025. She was born in Bozeman, MT on May 16, 1937, the fifth child of Wesley & Annie-Laurie Rampy. Rosanne grew up in Bozeman, she went to high school for a year in Estevan, Sask., Canada. There she met her husband, Carl Coy and the couple married in Bozeman, on April 11, 1955. They were married 67 years. Four children were born to them- 3 sons, 1 daughter.

Rosanne studied Education- majoring in Music and minoring in English graduating from Western Montana College in 1970. She earned her Master's in Library Science in the early 1980's. The family moved to Troy MT in 1970 where she taught High School English and was the Librarian until 1995. Leaving Troy, Rosanne and Carl moved to Red Lodge, MT. After 5 years there, the couple then lived in Laurel, MT where she worked as a Librarian at the public library. When she could no longer live alone Rosanne moved to Autumn Springs Assisted Living in Billings.

Rosanne was an accomplished pianist playing for church and weddings most of her life. She was an avid reader – she loved the classics as well as many authors and genre having a library in every home they lived in and often reading two or three books at a time. Grew flowers every summer – began planning what she wanted early spring. She loved working a crossword puzzle, word jumble or Words with Friends. Rosanne was always up for a game of any sort especially board games. Rosanne and Carl loved to travel the backroads of Montana to all the out of the way places.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, her brothers Wallace, Robert & Lee, her sister Nell. She is survived by her brother Ed (Barb), of West Yellowstone MT. Also surviving are her four children: Carl Nicholas Jr. (Vicky) of Powell, WY, Barry Curtiss (Kyrn)of Big Timber, MT, Wesley Mark (Janet) of Huntley, and Mary Beth Anderson (Jeff) of Ozark, MO. She had 10 grandchildren: Isaac Coy (Megan), Amy Rehklau (Justin), David Coy (Diana), Alison Rogers (Stephen), Hana Miller (Brendan), Elise Morris (Zachary), Annie-Laurie Agnew (Andrew), Audrey Nordine (Casey), Anika Young (Jacob), and Gregory Coy. She also is survived by 22 great-grandchildren: Harper and Ivy Rogers, Henry and Lily Coy, Gavin and Emma Miller, Isabel, John, Eli and Evan Morris, Claire, Natalie, Benjamin, Liam, Judah and Oliver Rehklau, Bianca Davis, Arabella and Lewis Coy, Hadley and Mollie Agnew, and Wilder Nordine. And one great-great grandson Milo Davis.

A graveside service will be held November 14th at 2:30 pm at the Laurel Cemetery.
