Faye Bates

1945 - 2025

Faye (Abrahamson) Bates, 80, of Douglasville, GA passed away peacefully at Wellstar Tranquility at Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA on May 23rd surrounded by family. She was born February 1, 1945 in Valley City, ND, to Art and Irene Abrahamson of Leal, ND. Faye graduated from Rogers High School in 1963.
Faye worked as a secretary of Krider Equipment Co. in Fargo, ND for many years before moving to Wisconsin. Faye married Jeff Bates in Milwaukee, WI Aug 30, 2007. They later lived in Douglasville, GA, Centre, Al and Cedar Bluff, AL. They really enjoyed fishing and going to flea markets together.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Burton of Atlanta, GA, and four grandchildren: Dillon Wincapaw, of Milwaukee, WI., Brady Wincapaw (Kitrina) of La Crosse, WI., Sienna Burton of Atlanta, GA., and Jermaine Burton of Cincinnati, OH. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley (Richard) Herberg of Gardner, ND., and two nephews: Matthew and Joshua (Carries) of Fargo. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Jeff in 2019.
A memorial service will be held June 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakland Historic Cemetaery, Atlanta, GA. Cremation arrangements were made through Neptune Society, Norcross, GA.
