DAVID ALLEN POLETSKI David passed away on November 30, 2015 in Portland, Oregon. Born in Eureka, California on August 10, 1955, David lived, worked, and raised his children here in the community that he loved. He worked for Eureka City Schools for many years. He was also dedicated to his work with the California School Employees Association, and enjoyed his many years of service with the organization. He enjoyed volunteering throughout his life. In the past he helped build parade floats for Eureka High School students, and was involved in many events that took place at the high school. More recently he volunteered at a pear farm in association with the Mormon Church in Medford, Oregon. David spoke highly of the faith leaders, congregation members, and his experiences connected with the Mormon Church. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Connie Poletski, and his brother Harry Poletski. He is survived by his daughter Amanda Serrano, son Scott Poletski, brothers Al Poletski, Stan Poletski, Bob Poletski, Jim Poletski, sisters Linda Johnson, Helen Mills, and Joan Dahl, grandchildren Shaun Poletski, Adriana Serrano, and Cecilia Serrano, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. I worked with Dave for many years at Eureka High School. He was such a kind person and always willing to go the extra mile. Dave was so helpful to students and staff and his laughter brought a smile to everyone. May loving memories help ease the pain of your loss. He was a special person.
