Eleanor A. “Mickey” Cross, resident of Loleta, passed away at her home on June 24, 2004.
Born August 3, 1921, in Bellingham, Washington, she was a member of the Cooks, Waiters and Bartenders Union Local No. 220. She worked in many of the Western States.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Willetta Hiblar and husband Andy of Oak Harbor, WA; son, Michael James O’Brien; nephew, Dr. Robert Powell and wife Diane of Burlington, WA; (almost granddaughter) Tammy Collings and husband Jack of Fortuna; and by dozens of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Grace Long; husband, Lester Cross; partner and fishing buddy, Cliff Christiansen; (almost son) Ken Christiansen; four brothers, Charles Powell, Aubrey Powell, Hugh Powell and Stanley Long; and by three sisters-in-law, Irene Long, Meryle Powell and Edith Powell.
At Mickey’s request no services were held.
Arrangements were under the care of Pierce Mortuary Chapel, Eureka.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Humboldt, 2010 Myrtle Avenue, Eureka, CA 95501.
