Fredricka Eacret Obituary

FREDRICKA JANE “PAT” EACRET

Fredricka Jane “Pat” Eacret, born December 27, 1932, went to be with her Father in Heaven on June 13, 2006, after a courageous fight with cancer.

Pat loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jonathan Eugene “Gene” Eacret; her mother Myrtle Stemberger, 90 years old, of Junction City, OR; sister Irene Halstead of Arcata; uncle Everret Ford of Arcata; her children, Paul Eacret, Rick Ellis, Cynthia Beard of Arcata, Sonja Scates of Grants Pass, OR, Tim Eacret of Bellingham, WA., Ann Cook of Orick, Roy Eacret of Tulsa, OK, and Donna Lorenz of Eureka; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by her son, Lee Ellis; by James “Jamie” Eacret, Sheila “Trella” Eacret, and by her father Fredrick Johns and sister, Pauline Warfel.

Pat will be remembered for speaking her mind, even if you didn’t want to hear her. Everyone turned to her for help and knowledge. Somehow she knew what to do and who to talk to to get things done. She was the backbone for everyone who knew her and loved her.

Pat was known for her personality at the Bowling Alleys. She had a way to make people laugh and enjoy themselves.

Her ceramics spoke for themselves. Everyone wanted her to make them something and she enjoyed it immensely.

She was involved in local horse clubs, doing everything from timing, to working the Snack Shack, to teaching kids to ride. This despite the fact that she was deathly afraid of horses.

Friends and everyone who loved her are invited to attend the funeral service at Pierce Mortuary, 707 H Street in Eureka on Monday, June 19, 2006 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be at the Mortuary on Monday from 9 a.m. to time of service.

Tim and family,

I am sorry to hear of your loss. All the years I've known you, I never had the chance to meet Pat, but her reputation and name were known to me. She seemed to know everyone and have more friends than most.

My thoughts are with you all at this tough time.
