Jeff was one of the coolest guys. I often think of him and wonder what kind of projects he might be up to. All through high school he was kind of this quite genius. Maybe almost as smart as Jesse Buck. Hah!
Sorry to hear of his passing especially since he was such an avid backpacker, like me.

I had the good fortune of growing up across the street from Geoff. We became good friends and shared the fun of growing up in Sunnybrae. Tinkering on bikes, getting neighborhood ball games together, discovering and sharing good music, backpacking, and building tree forts were a few of the things we did together. I always enjoyed looking him up when I was back in town to visit. He always rolled out the welcome mat and cooked up some great food, another of our shared passions. He was there for me through some of the best times of my life and the hard times too. A lifetime friend who was a big part of who I am. Love you Geoff.

Geoff was a super caring and thoughtful man. He loved to feed all who would come to visit. Even though we did not eat the same I was so grateful at the willingness to take time to consider, ask, and prepare food for our nutriment. Work with Geoff was good for me. He reminds me of how I am still a young bull rushing in. I love the way he would plan out everything in such detail. From the garden to building to just a trip to town. I miss his bear hugs! All the tricks of the trade, Geoff seemed to know them all. I don't know why Geoff and Diane took us into there family, but I am very grateful they have. He is a patriarch. His protective nature is so admirable. I could relate with his love of nature and of being in it. He was always appreciative and complementary to the work we would do, and it made me feel good to be helping work toward his dream to make it a better world. At least in his neck of the woods. I feel very blessed to have had the time with Geoff that I did. It is probably selfish, but I was not ready to see him go. I was hoping to learn so much more and to get to know hem better. In the end I am just happy to have had him in my life. Thank you Geoff. I love you and appreciate all you have done and continue to do in spirit for me and my family.

Getting to know Geoff has been such a blessing for my family and I. Since the day I met him his presence was powerful yet loving and kind. His willingness to work with others and his ability to show kindness to all around him opened a widow into his personality. I have been so lucky to be able to work side by side with Geoff in the ranch. To learn new skills from Geoff while building with him has helped me to develop more patience in my day. By watching him thoughtfully prepare for his projects he helped me to slow down and focus on the details more. His laugh was contagious and his love radiated to the people that he allowed into his life. He was like a grandfather to my son. Leading him with thoughtfulness, selflessness, and loving him unconditionally.
His spirituality and love for nature penetrated deep within my heart and helped me to gain an even deeper relationship with the world around me.
Thank you Geoff for being my friend, for inspiring me, for teaching me, for your patience with me, for your love for my family, for being an amazing man, and for your spirit which will live on inside me and the others whose lives you have touched.
I love you Geoff.

My love.it's been 40 days and everywhere I look I see your touch on our land, which is our passion, our dream. I miss your touch. Did I bring you happiness? Was I enough? I'm sorry you were in so much pain. We had good times together, laughter, quiet sharing, holding hands, partnership, joy, contentment. I am strong, you know this. But still..we were a teamI am alone in the physical without you. I feel you surround me in your love. I look at pictures of you doing simple things around our home and weep for the loss of you. I can't do everything you asked me but I will keep this land and protect it as much as I can.

As I wrote in a birthday message, if Diane loved him, I loved him, too.
A full but too short life...and sadly I never was able to shake his hand.
