John Tutuska Obituary

John G. Tutuska 9/3/1945 to 10/14/2012 Much missed will be the friendly man who welcomed the sun in Old Town in front of the Clark Museum; John Tutuska. He stood or sat and not only greeted the passersbys, but knew most of them by name and had a kind word for everyone. John Tutuska leaves behind his daughter Corinne, her husband Randy and two grandchildren, Townsend and Ella in Florida. Also he leaves his son Chris his wife Susie and step-son Ethan in Virginia. Old Town will feel a bit empty now when the sun appears and John is not there to meditate and smile benignly. A memorial will be forthcoming and posted for all who want to attend. It's been about twelve years since I was last in Old Town and had the pleasure of coming across John. What generosity and pleasure I experienced when I felt important enough to be given a lapel pin saying "The light in me recognizes the light in you" by John. I learned he had the pins made himself. He was a thoughtful person with thoughtful conversation, who possessed the kindest smile I ever saw. Simplicity and calmness was like a resounding peace which exuded from his soul. Miss you John! Thanks for being you !
Love you

I'm still hoping you have a seat ready nearby where I can join you. It is 4 days shy of 10 years since you passed. When I feel overburdened by this world I look past the care to the truth you shared "THE LIGHT IN ME RECOGNIZES THE LIGHT IN YOU", and find comfort. Soon we will meet again.

In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

We gathered to remember what you meant to us yesterday. All walks of life were represented. The light you so much wanted to awaken in us glowed brightly under an overcast sky. Hopefully we will carry the vision you desired us to share.

Even though you slipped away into the light, you will always remain dear to our hearts. I can just picture you now walking in that light with Wendy and playing frisbee.

Well dear friend you beat me there. Please save me a seat nearby where we can still recognize and enjoy the light that still remains on the sunny side of the Clark Museum where you let it comfort so many. I spent part of yesterday afternoon along the museum wall, and again was impressed with the love that still lingers there as you reccommended practicing forgiveness for all.

Dear (Jersey) John, To a good soul with an exceptional heart, who always tried to make his corner of this earth, a little better than it was before. Always willing to listen and share a word with his fellow travelers, he offered us his eternal hope that despite the pain of the present, this too, shall pass. Godspeed, dear friend.

I am still moved by the light you expressed while practicing forgiveness. We who knew you will do our best to carry the torch, and pass on what you shared. I spent part of my afternoon along the sunny side of the Clark Museum today remembering the many days we shared there. As usual many walking past were moved by the glow still lingering from the blessing your life continues to provide this place. Save me a seat near you dear friend. When God allows I will join you. You got off early for good behavior. My behavior will likely hold me here for quite awhile longer, but eventually we will share a hug of recognition.

Dear John, You are the greatest teacher I've yet to know. God sent you to me just as I had asked. You were my guide and I'll carry the word to all who will listen, forever and forever. See you soon my dear friend, see you soon.
All my love, Dusty~

I will always remember John as willing to share a kind smile, a word of advice and his amazing tan with the occupants of Old Town. The "sungod" will be missed.

Farewell for now, John. There are a lot of folks that will miss your smile, and wave, that never knew your name. I don't know if that would be important to you, but in their friendship lay much more than a name. We knew you AND your name, and you will be remembered, John.
