Bob cleaned the offices of the co-op when I worked there in 1987-89 (likely continued after I left). He was always a joy to run into and a breath of fresh air. His deep respect and genuine caring for everyone came through in all he did. He is one of those people whose memory will always bring a smile and fond thoughts to me.

To the Roberts family.
You most likely don't know or remember me as I have been gone from Humboldt County for 28 years, but I did know and remember Bob an am saddened to read the news of his passing.
I too worked at the Samoa sawmill / office thru the Hammond-Georgia Pacific-Louisana Pacific era and lived in Company Housing at No. 8 Fenwick with my wife and children in the 1956/60 years. Most of the time the work was hard but again most of the time there was plenty of it an it afforded us an opprotunity to make a good living for our selves and our families.
Again I am saddened for your loss and of someone I shared a place and time with so many years ago.

I have always held Bob with great reguards, as he was the best Supervisor I had ever work for. He was always fair and cared greatly for his employees and made time to visit injured employees in the hospital.

Bob was a very nice man. I first met him back around 1995 or so when I joined the Pine Hill Baptist Church and he was a deacon there.
Later I used Red Cap for my office. He kept his business long past the time most people retired.
I am glad I knew him.

I worked with Bob after he retired from the mill then kept in touch for several years. Bob was a beacon of honesty and integrity for me. His priorities of faith, service, ideas and human values were were things to remember when the clutter of daily emotions started to take over.
