8 years have passed and I still think of you daily, talk to you nightly and miss you every moment. Your grand-daughters have grown into beautiful young women and your influence on them is unmistakable. You now have two little grand-sons, Griffin and Daegan, who share your wonder, curiosity and enthusiasm for life. Griffin loves to dance like you and will break out into dance at any moment, anywhere, and Daegan has your sly smile and twinkle in his eyes. You are always with me....Your son, Nathan

I miss you deeply and will carry your spirit and amazing outlook on life with me for the rest of my days. Dear Eric, Nathan and family,
I want to let you know how deeply Susan touched my life while I lived in Eureka and attended all those math classes at HSU with her. I absolutely loved studying math with her - she enriched my understanding and love for the subject. Our hikes in Fern Canyon and beyond were always something to look forward to, as well as the stop at the Orick Cafe for onion rings and coffee, afterwards. She was the one who influenced me to start grad school with her. We spent a lot of the summer getting ready for Jeff Haag's class, as well as too much time prepping for our teaching. She was such an amazing person with such a zest for life and I loved being around her. Knowing her was such a gift that I will always cherish. Tom and I wish you all the best in this hard time.
Love to you,
Liz & Tom

I've been privileged to have known Susy for many years. Besides being super-intelligent, funny, devilish, incredibly artistic, loving and lots of fun, I discovered that Susy also possessed a great deal of grace. I have had so many good times with Susy, Eric, Nan and Sue, Nate and his girls, and Stella. I know Susy and Eric have had such a good time together all these years, and I've admired the special relationship Susy and Nan shared. I feel my life is so enriched by knowing Susy and that she will continue to be with us as we go forward.

To Susan's Family:
I was shocked and saddened to read of Susan's passing yesterday. I met her when we were both facing the uncertain world of middle-agers returning to higher education. She sat next to me through many math classes and we shared many laughs. She would get ill before an exam and need to get some air before the test would begin. Well, eventually she would always get an "A" and got over the test jitters. I was always amazed at her ability to "get it." The rest of us would have to really work at it and only hope to get even close to her ability. Somewhere, a student is missing her help, an equation is incomplete. God bless Susan. Rest in Peace. Sincere condolences to you all.

Nate and family; Your mom has been a very nice person and grandma I'm sure she was a loving mother. You all were blessed to have had her in your lives. I only talked to her a couple of times but children reflect qualities of their parents and I could see that in you. May God be with you and your family during the weeks ahead.

The world is a better place because of Suzy. She was a excellent wife, mother and grandmother (& Mother-in-law:) The love she showed for her family made me want to be a better wife and mother. She adored every moment she spent w/ her grand-daughters. Hiking, dancing, taking them to the Marine lab, sharing art, food and music w/ them was the best gift she could of even given them. We will miss you so much Susan! Thank you for loving my daughters and giving them so much by encouraging them to go after their dreams! You were the best Grandmother a child could have. Eric, Nathan, Nan & Katie: I am so sorry for your loss. We love you all very much. ~Molly~

A great joy to be around with her quick smile and positive attitude, we had many good laughs and I will remember her fondly. Wishing you and your family peace and wonderful memories.

Susan Zink was my grandma, and a very loved person all around. I could never be the same kid I am today without her love, laugh, and excellent dance moves. I love and miss her very much.

Eric and Nathan --

I am so sorry to hear about Suze! She certainly was "energetic and quirky" -- she was a dear, sweet, loving, intelligent, wonderful woman, and I feel so privileged to have crossed paths with her, intersecting in one of the many spheres that made up her life! Did she know that it was Pi Day on March 14? ... I am very saddened by her passing. Matt and I are thinking of you during this difficult time.
