I was a shipmate with Ted on the USS ARCO, ARD-29, in Guam. He always had a smile and made friends easily. Sounds like he lived life to its fullest. Hopefully you are at Rest with the Lord. [email protected]

Meeting Ted one time was all it took to know what a great and funny man he was. My Aunt Alice had so much fun on the boat rides. She would call me in Texas and tell me about the boat ride with Ted. The rest of my family only met Ted one time, but that was all it took to know Ted. We enjoyed our time with him. We were blessed to have know Ted.

I am so sorry that so many miles separated us and prevented us from really knowing each other. Your Aunt Foye loved all of you boys and your Mom.

I will always appreciate my cousin Ted's concern for my mother as she too had Parkinson's Disease. He was kind, compassionate and always checking on his Aunt Foye. He truly was a compassionate man, he will be missed.

I was one of many that Ted helped on our way in AA. When I was very new in the 12 step program I bumped into Ted at Winco. We said hi and he asked me if I had a moment. At the time I believe he had nearly ten years sober. I said yes and he told me how he was having a bad day and was afraid he might drink. I listened while he shared his feelings, then told me he felt a lot better and thanked me for my time. I walked away feeling that I had a purpose in life, that I could help someone who was so much longer in sobriety than I. I'm sure that Ted used the same technique on many others and helped them value their sobriety as he did for me.
I'll never forget you, Ted

Ted was a long-time friend. He and I shared a lot of "adventures" together! A donation has been made in his honor to the Fortuna BSA Venture Crew Troop. My condolences to his family.
Sincerely, Justin Olson and family
