Native of Sacramento and resident of Arcata, Thomas Higginson passed away on May 22, 2006, at his residence.
Thomas retired from Sysco eleven years ago, after twenty-seven years of dedicated service.
He spent as much time "cruising" with his wife as he could in his last ten years. He loved driving his set of doubles. He loved to travel with his wife. He loved the ocean. Tom was a history buff, and he collected antiques, leather bottles and vintage model cars. Tom was not afraid of hard work and would help anyone in need. He loved everyone he encountered.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; his loving daughter, Kelly; and his brother, Donald and his wife Sandy.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Arrangements are under the direction of Paul’s Chapel, 1070 H Street, Arcata, California.

"The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away". These words I did not fully understand until Tom was called from us nearly 6 weeks ago. But, now we can "rejoice and be glad for that which was lost has been found" That Tom is safely in his Maker's arms is serendipity and grace. I wish there was a new medicine, a silver bullet to prevent this from happening. Thank you so much for your years of love, and support, your gentle kindness, your encouragement. Thank you for all that you do and all that you are. If it were not for you I may not be the person I am at the restaurant. May the love of the Father, the peace of the Son (Jesus) and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you now and forever. May God's loving hands care for you and may His love warm you. God bless you and keep you in his warm embrace.

Goodbye my Love. Thank you for so many wonderful years. My heart breaks because you are so far away. Each day seems like a thousand years and each tear that falls seems to bring with it a river. I question whether or not that I can hang on but then I hear you and see your great crooked smile and I make it through to the next day. I will forever miss you in this world and all that I do, for now,is "mark time" and wait for I know that you are in God's hands. I wait for the time when God will call me home and I know that you will be waiting for me and then we can continue our journey together.
Your loving wife,
Margaret
