Edith McAfee Obituary
Born in Queens, New York, on May 25 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna (Kish) Federlein. Edith attended schools in New York. After her schooling, she was employed as a seamstress. In 1944, the family moved to Florida where she was employed as a schoolteacher and librarian.
In 1949, she married Robert McAfee in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where the couple made their home and raised their family until 1970 when they moved to Asheville, North Carolina. He passed away in 1982. She then moved to Montpelier in 1994 where she made her home on Forest Drive.
She was a member of the Church of God of Prophercy in Graniteville, Vermont.
Survivors include one son, Christopher McAfee, of Montpelier, Vermont, and one daughter, Lorie Raymar of Portland, Oregon, as well as six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours.
A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at 7 p.m. at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre. Pastor Jeff Kelley will officiate the service.
Arrangements are in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre, Vermont.

You will always be know as grandma to me. My whole life you never forgot a birthday an anniversary or any special day I ever had. Sometimes I would even forget something special happened to me on this day in the past, but sure enough I would get a letter from you, filled with all the love you had to give. Edith was a such a sweet and caring lady. I will miss our visits, talking on the phone and sending emails to each other. She had so many experiences in her lifetime, which we loved to hear about. Missing our dear friend, but know she's happy and at peace.
