Kim Gale Obituary

Kim Elizabeth Gale, beloved wife of Jeff Danziger, passed away quietly early January 26 morning, after a long and courageous battle against cancer.
Kim was a Barre, Vermont, native, born in 1964, and a graduate of Spaulding High School. She attended Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, graduating with honors in classics and history and began work in finance in the Merrill Lynch training program. She worked in software development in Wall Street advancing to a position in international finance at Deutschebank AG. She worked for the bank in Frankfurt am Main for several years, in New York, and in Chicago, reaching the rank of director.
She is remembered as bright, loving, caring, generous, quick to solve a problem and offer help. Her friends are numerous in the U.S. and Europe, but her fondest friends were from her native Vermont, a state and place she loved for its warmth and practical kindness. She contributed to several Vermont charities including the Vermont Foodbank and many animal shelters.
She is survived by her father, Richard Gale, her mother, Nancy Desilets Martin, her stepfather, Stephen Martin, her brother, Kyle Gale, and her sister, Kris Alberry, her uncle, Alan Desilets, two nieces, Sia and Kira Gale, and three nephews, Brendan and Conner Alberry, and Barrett Gale, and her husband Jeff Danziger, cartoonist for the Rutland Herald and Times Argus and the New York Times Syndicate.
She had lived in New York City for many years, but spent summers on Lake Groton in Groton, Vermont. She and her husband had recently bought a house in Dummerston, Vermont, and were restoring it for a permanent residence.
Her memory is treasured by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held in spring in Dummerston, at a date to be announced.
Appreciations can be forwarded to Jeff Danziger, 420 West 47th Street, 5A, NY, NY 10036.
Contributions to the Vermont Foodbank, 33 Parker Rd., Barre, VT 05641, one of her favorite charities, can be made in her memory.

Nancy and family,

I want to express my sympathy in the passing of your daughter and sister, Kim.

As they say, "a person who loses a partner is called a widow, a child who loses a parent is called an orphan, there is no word to describe a parent that loses a child because that loss is like no other!"

Losing a child has to leave such a huge hole in ones heart. I'm sure you have such beautiful memories that no one can take from you. God must have had a reason that he wanted Kim, as she was just to young to leave. May she R.I.P.

With sincere sympathy,
Shirley Rivard

Dear Gale Family, I have many fond memories of growing up with Kim... Starting with kindergarten, grade school and high school. I met Kim here in NYC shortly after she began working for Merrill. Although we had not been in touch in recent years I was saddened to hear of her passing. May God grant you peace and healing as you deal with her loss.
