Michael Lee Gale, age 75, of Mendon, Michigan, passed away at his home on March 19, 2026.
He was born on January 16, 1951, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Norman and Palarena (Salvaggio) Gale.
Mike spent his early years in Kalamazoo before moving to Florida, where he lived for 15 years. He later returned to Michigan and made his home in Mendon for the past 15 years.
On July 31, 1987, Mike married the love of his life, Valerie Grills, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Together they shared many years of love, laughter, and memories.
Mike was a talented auto body technician and entrepreneur, dedicating his career to his craft. He worked for East Side Autobody, West Autobody, Classic Auto, and VVG Truck and Auto Body. Known for his exceptional skill as an auto body painter, Michael had a passion for restoring and customizing vehicles. He especially loved working on cars, motorcycles, and boats, painting street rods, and building custom bikes. Among his many accomplishments, he proudly designed and painted the Mickey Mouse limousine, showcasing both his creativity and talent.
Outside of work, Mike enjoyed driving classic cars, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and spending time hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a kind, generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand and share his knowledge with others.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie Gale of Mendon, Michigan; his sons, Michael David (Sherry) Gale of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and their children, and James Wiginton of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and his children; his siblings, Leonard Gale, Cathy (Don) Boyce, Rosie Slack, Tina (Scott)Blayden and Norman Gale; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Palarena Gale, and his step-son, Doug Gale.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers, Michigan 49093 has been entrusted with his care.
