Lynne Kowski Obituary

BARRE - Lynne Christine (Butler) Kowski, 72, of Allen Street, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.
Born on March 14, 1945, in St. Johnsbury, she was the daughter of G. Julian and Marion (Suitor) Butler. Lynne graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury in 1963.
In 1965, Lynne married Karl L. Jurentkuff in Barre where they resided. They later divorced. In 1995, she married Roy H. Kowski in Barre.
Lynne first worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph before becoming a homemaker while raising her family. After her family was grown, Lynne was employed doing administrative work at Sprague Electric, E.F. Wall and Associates, The Times Argus and Video Vision Video Productions until her retirement. She also helped coordinate the participants for the annual Barre Heritage Festival Parade.
She enjoyed playing bells for the St. Johnsbury Town Band, as well as for the Barre City and Montpelier town bands. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Kowski, of Barre; her children, Kris Jurentkuff and his wife, Karla, of Peacham, and Julie (Jurentkuff) Thresher and her husband, Michael, of Danville; her grandchildren, Brittany Walsh and her husband, Chris, and Kassandra Thresher and her partner, Thomas Vogel; her great-grandchildren, Haidyn Walsh and Kenzey Walsh; her sister, Joyce Pennaman and her husband, David, of Kentucky; as well as nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, from 5–7 p.m. at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. Interment will take place in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in St. Johnsbury at the convenience of her family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF Northern New England Chapter, 175 Ammon Drive, Suite 201, Manchester, NH 03103, www.jdrf.org.
