Marilyn Matte Obituary

BARRE CITY - The service of Remembrance and celebration of the life of Marilyn Johnson Matte, of Quinlan Drive was held Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 4 p.m. in the Barre Congregational Church. She died July 7, 2012, in the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The Rev. David Vanderlinde-Abernathy, pastor of the church, led the service. Organist and pianist Eric Giles accompanied the congregation in the hymns "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art" and soloist Ann Fitch in the anthem, "Ave Maria."

Niece Jan Johnson Pecor gave the reading "On Friendship" and nephew Kerrick L. Johnson delivered the eulogy.

Fellowship and refreshment followed in the church fellowship hall.

The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St. Barre, was in charge of the arrangements.

Marilyn was a beautiful person who gleamed with genuine kindness and intrity.Over the years, after corresponding with her long distance and not seeing her, I realized how much I missed her and her qualities which are rare in this day.

Rest in peace dear friend, you will be remembered in our hearts and prayers.
